Mixed Weather brings Mixed Results for Sarah Burgess in Wheatland

TOOELE, UT, June 27, 2018 – Sarah Burgess and her team from BMI Racing travelled east to the amazing facilities at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland Missouri for rounds 4 and 5 of the 2nd Annual GEICO Off Road Shootout by Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series.  This would also be the first rounds of racing on the new BFGoodrich® KM3 tires that have just been released.

There was a packed house in the grandstand as the green flag dropped for round 4.  Sarah got a great start in the Gear Alloy Prolite as the BFGoodrich® KM3 Tires hooked and drove her forward through the field.  As Sarah was coming around the exit of turn 9 she was on the receiving end of poor driving from another competitor taking her out of the race.

Sunday came, and so did the chance of rain but the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Seriesorganizers worked quickly to get all 9 classes completed for qualifying before the rain came down.  Thankfully the rain cleared away, and after some time delay the officials were ready to drop the green flag for Round 5.  The track still had quite a lot of moisture and precision driving was going to be key.  Once again Sarah got a great start in the Gear Alloy Prolite as the BFGoodrich® KM3 tires hooked up in the muddy conditions.  Sarah got turned by another competitor in the tricky switch back section.  Not one to give up she caught back up to the field and fought all the way to the end for 9th place finish.

Bridget Burgess continued showing improvements and great progression in the #8 FK Rod Ends/Fragola Performance Systems Prolite.
